Arbana Osmani Reflects on Reality TV and Its Future

Prominent Albanian TV host Arbana Osmani has spoken openly about her relationship with reality television, hinting at both opportunities and challenges surrounding a potential return.

Osmani, who has long been the face of some of the country’s most popular reality shows, said she continues to receive offers but emphasized that hosting decisions ultimately lie with production companies and broadcasters.

She also noted how the genre has evolved, suggesting that today’s reality formats often spark controversy rather than provide pure entertainment. “It feels like reality TV is in a phase of transition,” she remarked, calling attention to the need for new creative approaches.

Adding a personal touch, Osmani shared a comment from her son, who asked why she doesn’t create something interactive like the online game Roblox instead of shows such as Big Brother. For her, the remark reflected a generational shift in how audiences consume entertainment.

Supporting this, she pointed to a Deloitte survey which found that over half of Gen Z viewers prefer interactive experiences to traditional television formats.

While Osmani did not confirm any immediate projects, her perspective highlights the growing debate about the future of reality programming and how it can remain relevant in the digital age.
